About PSAS

Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Advanced Science (PSAS)

at Beni-Suef University

Owing to the rapid development of modern science and its applications in market and industry, as well as the emerging of multidisciplinary work in parallel with clearing the borders between the different fields of science, and due to the demand increment of staff members equipped with well-developed capabilities for rising the industrial productivity and for the community inside and outside the university, it has become an urgent need to find out connection channels between research and industry via the advanced technological science.

Faculty of Posgraduate Studies for Advanced Science is a unique educational institution, which is a pioneering public faculty of a main focus on the scientific research and the first faculty, not only in Egypt but also in Africa and the Middle East , that grants postgraduate degrees (Diploma, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy) in multidisciplinary fields (Nanotechnology, Renewable Energy, Biotechnology, etc.). The language of instruction and examination (oral and written) is English.

Prof. Mohamed H. Khedr

Dr. Khedr received his B.Sc in Chemistry, M.Sc in Inorganic Chemistry and PhD in Physical Chemistry degrees from Cairo University. He worked in the Center of Research in Metallurgy, Helwan, as a research assistant and then he joined the faculty of Science at Beni-Suef University as a Lecturer of Chemistry, where he established the first pioneering and unique research group in Egypt for Nanotechnology. Currently, He is a professor of Physical Chemistry. In 2012, he founded the Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Advanced Sciences (PSAS) at Beni-Suef University and he acts as the first dean of the faculty. In 2015, Prof. Khedr was appointed as the Vice-President for Education and Students Affairs at Beni-Suef University.

Faculty's Misson

Preparing specialized, qualified, and professional graduates, to meet the needs of the market, and contribute in studying and solving the local, regional and global industrial obstacles. Working on developing and supporting resources, and preparing appropriate mechanisms to measure its rates with the international standards, and building partnerships with various institutions which concerned with scientific research.

Faculty's vision

The vision of the faculty is to become a unique scientific school in doing researches and advanced studies among universities, and also local, regional and global institutions. Additionally, contributing in solving the industrial problems and achieving sustainable development.

Faculty's Strategic Objectives

Expansion of the applied researches in new fields and scientific industrial counseling which depend on advanced science.
Providing educational and training services with high- quality to increase the ability of the graduate students in order to have competitive spirit in the market.
Expansion in the use of the Electronic-learning and self- learning.
Increasing the effectiveness of the educational programs and curriculum to achieve the professional standards and the global scientific cooperation with the users in the market at the local, Arabic and African levels.
Encouraging students, teaching staff and employees of the faculty to do their best performance with focusing on spreading the principles and ethics of the scientific research.
Participation in enriching human knowledge and its branches through specialized studies and hard working to achieve innovative scientific applications and discover new facts.
Rehabilitating the faculty to have an academic accreditation from the national, regional and global institutions.
Preparing specialized scientific and professional skills and supporting them with high rehabilitations in advanced fields.
Encouraging scientific competences to catch the rapid scientific and technical progression. Pushing them to create, innovate and develop the scientific research in order to solve the community issues.
Enabling the distinguished graduate students to complete their post graduate studies locally in the fields which exist only in the modern countries.
